Being raised close to Washington DC but very near Appalachia, Nancy Pawlowski has lived and studied throughout the United States including Boston, The SouthWest, Washington DC, Cape Cod, and West Palm Florida. Undergraduate studies in sculpture and fine art were at Palm Beach State College and Florida Atlantic University.

Currently in her 2nd year of her MFA Studio Arts program at Vermont State University, Pawlowski is focusing on sculpture and sculpture parks. Her sculptures are heavily form-based and semi-abstract, biomorphic using either cement or clay. Often, her piece is finished when she studies the shadow created - and determines  a strong shadow appears. She is influenced greatly by Henry Moore and Jean Arp.

Focusing on topical themes, Nancy Pawlowski’s forms tell narratives of  current attitudes when facing oppression and difficult times. Some themes include self care, confusion, and rising up.
